Like their colleagues, the Ministers for Health, the Australian Treasurer and my local MP (MPs Mark Butler and Steve Georganas), Minister for Trade and Tourism Don Farrell and Foreign Affairs Minister Penny Wong were completely uninterested in forcing health insurers to obey the law.
People dying from cancer did not matter to Mark Butler, Don Farrell or Penny Wong.

I had become acquainted with Farrell through my work as a lawyer. I stupidly thought he would be outraged at the way the health insurers had treated cancer patients and that he would use his great influence in the government to end the conduct of the health insurers. The letter to Senator Farrell was initially sent to him at his Parliament House email address. I also sent a copy of the letter to Bonnie Pederson on Saturday 9 July 29022. Bonnie Pederson was Farrell’ senior administrative assistant.

I had become acquainted with Wong through my work as a lawyer. I stupidly thought Wong would be astonished and outraged at the treatment of cancer patients by the health insurers. I had no doubt she could use her great influence with the government to end the obvious unlawful behaviour by the health insurers. I sent my correspondence to Senator Wong from two separate personal email addresses, as well as through Bonnie Pederson in Senator Farrell’s office.
People dying from cancer did not matter to Penny Wong.
