 The Night Watch – Part 3: A Daughter is Born

The Shadow Lands exist as the unavoidable counterpart of the world of light we know.  A single photon of light is shown in this photo.

The birth of my daughter was one of the few photons of light in my many years as the Night Watch

1980s

The birth of my daughter was imminent.

She would surely arrive shortly.

The mother of my daughter said urgently,

“Walk with me”,

“It will help”.

So I walked the dripping with cold, suburban streets,

Holding her hand.

“I hate you!”

“I detest you!”

“I want you out of my life!”

“Forever!”

What could I do?

What could I say?

I did and said nothing.

I was the Night Watch.

As Night Watch, I had one Primary Function.

My job was to protect.

My four year old son needed my protection.

I therefore had to protect the mother of my son.

Soon, I would also have my newest child to protect.

My world was filled mostly with darkness in the decades I had to be the Night Watch.  

Shown above is a photo of dark photons of light – the exact opposite of photons of ordinary light.  Surely this photo cannot show real dark photons!  Surely photos need real light!

I was the Night Watch,

And I did my job.

I protected.

I made sure my wife was safe.

I made sure my as yet unborn daughter was safe.

I maintained a Ring of Protection around my family.

I strengthened the Ring of Protection around my whole family,

That included my wife.

She had promised to make sure I could be present when it happened,

I so much wanted to be there for my daughter’s birth.

My wife made sure I was not present.

My daughter was born without fuss,

But she was born without me being there.

The birth of my daughter brought much needed light into my life. My daughter, like the light, is beautiful.  I wanted so very much to be there at her birth.  My wife made sure this did not happen.

I remained the Night Watch after my daughter was born.

My wife knew I really wanted to be there.

She made sure this never happened.

When it was all over I got a phone call.

“You have a daughter Mr Hankin”.

We had no health insurance.

Health insurance was not a vital necessity.

I only ever had money to pay vital necessities.

I magically found the money to pay the hospital bill.

She had insisted on a small private hospital,

I was so grateful she had not insisted on another home birth

Years later, I realised what I had really done.

I had simply enabled her spending.

By always solving her money crises,

She always had the ability to create new ones.

Because she knew I would always find the money,

She spent gleefully.

Somehow, I would always make it right.

And I always did make it right.

As Night Watch, that was part of my job.

My Night Watch job continued many years after my daughter was born.

I often stumbled as I wandered the Shadow Lands,

But I always got up.

Although I found only Darkness in the Shadows,

I still believed I could remodel the Shadows.

Years later, I realised the truth.

Light cannot enter the Shadow Lands.

The sole function of the Shadow Lands is …

To be the Shadow Lands.

For every photon of light,

There must be a photon of dark.

The normal Universe has all the photons of normal light,

The Shadow Universe has all the photons of dark light.

This is how the universe maintains balance.

Leaving the Shadow Lands is possible,

But only if you know their true function.

All those decades ago, I knew nothing.

I still know so very little.

This photo shows a single dark photon of dark light.  I wandered through the Shadow Lands for 20 years.  My only company was the darkness.  How is it possible to take a photo of complete darkness?
